Drip Irrigation Blockage Prevention
Practical steps for operators—less theory, more field maintenance discipline.
Common Causes
- Insufficient filtration for the water source
- Biological growth in stagnant lines
- Precipitation from incompatible fertilizers
- Sediment after pump or tank disturbances
Prevention Checklist
- Correct sand + disc (or screen) staging
- Flush lines before season start
- Acid maintenance where water chemistry requires it
- Separate incompatible fertilizer stocks in fertigation
When Blockage Occurs
- Flush affected laterals; identify zone, not whole farm
- Inspect filter differential pressure / backwash cycle
- Review recent fertilizer changes
- Replace clogged emitters in worst sections only

System Review
If blockage is recurring, send water analysis summary and filter layout—we check hydraulic and control design together.
